Cheddar's, Zaxby's planned for University
The land being cleared in front of the University Place shopping center (where Phil Sandoval's and Nothing but Noodles is) is for a Cheddar's restaurant. A Zaxby's is also planned for another outparcel across University from McDonald's. This will be the ninth Zaxby's in the area, but the first Cheddar's (looks similar to a Ruby Tuesday) in Alabama.

Cheddar's is WAY better than a Ruby Tuesdays. Good range of American cuisine at very affordable prices. Tastes a lot better than Ruby Tuesdays and has no salad bar.
I think this will be a great addition to the area and will do very well. Cheddar's is well underpriced considered to Ruby Tuesdays.
Here's hoping this might bring some life back to that shopping center. It could really use it since losing it's Winn Dixie and Inside Accents anchors.
^The restaurants in the shopping center seem to be doing well with the Research Park crowd. A "Village on Whitesburg" (heavy on restaurants) type redevelopment would probably work for the center.
how do i apply for a job at cheddars, the one they are building??
@Laura: I would assume you would use the corporate job website: http://www.cheddars.com/CHD/06/opportunities.html
I've had the priveledge of being inside of the new Cheddars building and I can honestly say that it is MUCH more classy than Ruby Tuesday. It has a feel similar to that of Connor's and Should be a fantastic addition to the Research Park area dining scene! Their menu is very diverse and affordable. Opening Nov. 23rd!!
