Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In May, 88 housing units were permitted, all single-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 109.01 (Hampton Cove), where 27 units were permitted. This is a 3.3% decrease over May 2013, when 91 housing units (all single-family) were permitted.

Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
149 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 65 single- and 84 multi-family units. The top tract for CO’s in the month of May was 112 (the Martin-Zierdt area) where 43 housing units were added (19 single- and 24 multi-family). This is a 17.3% increase over May 2013, when 127 housing units (80 single- and 47 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
