Residential Permits
(new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In July, 119 housing units were permitted (78 single- and 41
multi-family). The top tract for building permits last month was 106.22 (Providence),
where 42 units were permitted; all but one were multi-family units. This is a 29.6%
decrease over July 2013, when 169 housing units (112 single- and 57
multi-family) were permitted.
Residential Certificates
of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
74 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy
(CO’s), all single-family units. The top tract for CO’s in the month of July
was 112 (Martin-Zierdt) where 21 housing units were added. This is a 40.3% decrease
over July 2013, when 124 housing units (98 single- and 26 multi-family) were
granted CO’s.
