Chipotle Coming to Huntsville

Several of you have asked if the construction going on between Cheddar's and Zaxby's on University Drive is for a new Chipotle Mexican Grill. While that is not the case-- what you're seeing is another new entry into the market, Panda Express-- Chipotle will be opening their first Huntsville restaurant in that same corridor.

Site plans for the Earth Fare (former Circuit City/Linens n' Things) shopping center across from Madison Square show a 2,400 sq. ft. Chipotle restaurant going in on the eastern side of the retail strip.

Chipotle's opening should please a lot of Huntsvillians, as it came in second in new restaurants on the original Ideas Map, just behind The Cheesecake Factory.

C'mon in, the water's fine! After the honeymoon period, I hope they can accommodate the early lunch crowd from the Arsenal. To quote Jim Varney, we like our lunch spots "hot, fast, and cheap."

Glad to hear the news but that has to be one of the worst parking lots to get into. It can be nearly impossible at times to get to from Research Park Blvd (northbound). But I'll be risking it very frequently.

Are there any plans to address the traffic situation on this stretch of Highway 72? Yesterday afternoon it took me nearly 45 minutes to travel from Wynn Drive to Jeff Road with no wrecks. I'm excited about the development in this cooridor but it seems that the city and state are ignoring the traffic congestion.

This is wonderful news! I've sent them numerous emails begging for a Huntsville location. I can't wait!!

Excellent! I loved this place when I lived in Denver. Used to love Moe's Southwest Grill on Airport too. But they have gone way downhill.

I wish Qdoba would come back. They are much better than Chipotle.

It's about time Chipotle! I have written to them every month since we moved back here from Northern VA. I even provided a business plan and projected financials. So thank you Chipotle for finally listening and opening up a location here in Huntsville.
