Yes, the rumors are true: Assuming some access issues will be resolved, Kohl's is coming to South Huntsville. According to site plans, the new 64,000 sq. ft. store will be on the East side of Carl T. Jones just South of Ledges Dr., which would place it directly across from SuperTarget. This will be a stand-alone store, similar but a bit smaller than the existing location on 72 West. Construction is expected to begin in April, with completion early next year.
A Kohl's in South Huntsville was one of the more popular ideas on the city's Ideas Map.

i just want to reiterate my original comment that this is a horrendous location for a big box store. there (should) be plenty of room for them elsewhere in the city, even potentially in the new portion of the jones valley crossing next to the hobby lobby, or even behind the main development next to the rave and the wellness center.
I think a Kohls is a perfect addition right next to the Ledges. Haha!
A single big box store across the street from a mall will get zero business from someone like me. Im not parking and walking around twice. But then again i do hate shopping.
Why did they not take that piece of land by the wellness center in Jones Valley Crossing?
Kohls next to the Ledges entrance? What's next? A Nordstroms on north parkway? But, it's not like I live in the Ledges. I would think that location would be more suited to a Trader Joes or Whole Foods. Trader Joes would be perfect for that location.
