In October, 171 housing units were permitted (87 single- and 84 multi-family). The top tract for building permits last month was 14.02 (Research Park), where 48 units were permitted-- all multi-family units part of The Bridges in Research Park apartment development. This is a 22.3% decrease over October 2013, when 220 housing units (88 single- and 132 multi-family) were permitted.

Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

114 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 82 single- and 32 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of October was 106.22 (Providence), where 26 housing units were added (2 single- and 24 multi-family). This is a 20.3% decrease over October 2013, when 143 housing units (90 single- and 53 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
