Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In August, 220 housing units were permitted (80 single- and 140 multi-family). The top tract for building permits last month was 28.01 (Chaffee/Haysland), where 56 units were permitted-- all multi-family units. This is a 91.3% increase over August 2013, when 115 housing units (109 single- and 6 multi-family) were permitted.

Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
103 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 72 single- and 31 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of August was 14.02 (Research Park) where 24 housing units were added, all multi-family. This is a 21.4% decrease over August 2013, when 131 housing units (81 single- and 50 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
